"Power is like being a lady...if you have to tell people you are, you aren't."

-Margaret Thatcher

“A leader is ultimately someone who leads people not only through the good times but through the hardest of times. A great leader is someone who leads people through change that they don’t necessarily want to be led through, for fear of what may be waiting for them on the other side.”
 - Richard Draycott, "The Drum"
“Carve your name on hearts, not tombstones. A legacy is etched into the minds of others and the stories they share about you.”

-Shannon L. Alder, Author

Margaret Thatcher has become a symbolic leader known as "The Iron Lady," because of her aggressive leadership style in which she pursued what she fiercely believed in rather than looking to compromise. This style cultivated her legacy of being a very polarizing figure as she instituted drastic changes to bring the United Kingdom out of despair. Margaret Thatcher showed that you can successfully stay true to your principals in the face of adversity. Some people may have not liked her but there is no doubt she changed Britain forever.

“Even 20 years later her legacy dominates British politics, she still comes up in conversation and in newspaper articles; she is the most influential politician of her era.”

-Ian Dale, Author
